we didn't go fishing this weekend *pics*

We fish saltwater on the boat as much as possible and we also do a lot of sweetwater fishing when we're at our camp up north. This weekend we took time off from fishing and my son and I went on our first hike together. It was only 5 miles but there were several steep sections and I'm pretty out of shape . It was quite a workout.

Here's my son on the trail

This is where we ended up... man, I wish we brought some rods!

Not a care in the world

should I go in?

yup... it was cold

The hike back to the car was just as nice. I definitely want to do this more... and get some nice back-pack fishing rods

Nice pics, and the creation of the next generation of nature lover. Some of my best memories of my childhood are hiking and fishing with my old man.

hiking and fishing in the whites was one of my favorite pass times as a kid.

nothing like native brookies over a camp fire for lunch..

Thanks for the replies guys.

I love enjoying the outdoors with my kids. I wish my daughter wanted to do more of this stuff... she has more of a casual interest. My son is hardcore. He'll do whatever I do!

Its true we are caretakers of this place and you will allways get back what you put into something, whether it be training dogs, helping people, sharing knowledge, but most of all showing kids what someone else has shown you. My son is just 16 years old but loves to hunt, fish, boat, snowmobile,And I know why. These are the most important days of your kids lives and you are making a great investment in all our futures by sharing the outdoors..
