Thumbs up BAYMAN, Coalman

Hi Dave, I just want to congratulate you on the marvelous story in the F&G Wildlife Journal about your life and how you got the name BAYMAN. I was at the F&G to bring my report of catches and saw the journal there and picked 1 up and read it . It's a wonderful story about yor life at bay. Now i know why you had me help you with the bait for d bugs as your "Master Baiter". Hee hee. You spend all your time working ,going in the woods hunting etc., and on the water etc. Guess your home only to sleep. That was a nice write up about your life. Again CONGARATS. I am very happy to have met you as a friend and to teach me how to catch the river herring. As they say , take a kid fishing . As old as i am I feel like a kid that never grew up and enjoyed all the info u helped me with.Tks . Armand

Thank you Armand for your kind words.

The July/August issue of NH F&G Wildlife Journal is their marine issue. I have a great ally at NH F&G, Jane Vachon. The article would not have been possible without her encouragement and editing abilities.

I am proud to be a Bayman and follow in the tradition of my mentors.

The Great Bay be it shore or water is my play land.

And remember there are no striped bass in Great Bay and there hasn't been a lobster or clam there in 100 years. Great Bay is all mud and you will get stuck every time you go out.

If you believe me I have water front property to sell in Phoenix.

Please if you head out in the Great Bay estuary please be careful. She can be harsh and take your life and she can be gentle and fill your stomach.

Treat her with respect and she will give up her bounties.

PS. all the striped bass are in Rhode Island.

"Treat her with respect and she will give up her bounties."

Now those are universal words we should all live by regardless of what estuary we call home. I haven't seen the article but enjoy reading your stories Coalman.

Thanks for pointing out the article Armand.

Dave is one of the big assets of this site with his knowledge, his sportsmanlike attitude and good nature, and his stories, pictures and tales of his adventures are among the top things I look for when I log on to MM.

Thanks Dave and congrats on the article.
