Bike week: Sissy circus.

I saw a sign of the times yesterday morning on my way to work. A Porche SUV hauling a motorcycle trailer with Harley Davidson painted all over it. The plates were from NY and he was headed west on Rte 9 coming from Laconia.

The guy looked like Thurston Howel. The only thing missing was the captain's cap.

I never owned a bike but used to go up to Loudon during the 80's and early 90's. Now that was a party! Boobs, babes, tire fires, mayhem etc. Now we have a bunch of lawyers and accountants dressing up like telephone tough guys in leather looking for T-shirts. Many of my friends ride hard and have stated that there are more cops up there then ever before.

What about the good old days when HA used to run the show? There Something about going to an event and wondering if you were going to make it through the night. Seeing chicks with their tits hanging out and some without any clothing. Doing burnouts in the road, a constant parade of topless women, some fist fights, a few stabbings (keeps everyone in line), and once in a while some gunshots.
Then there was the all night fireworks fights. You did not sleep in case your tent caught on fire. I can remember a few going up. That was fun.

I chuckle when the powers that be state they want to turn bike week into a "family event". How many families do you see riding on a harley? Kind of hard to keep the kids on the seat without bungee cords. The wealthy have ruined a once great event and turned it into a joke.

Want a good time? Go to Rondevous in NY. private event and gated. What ever happens behind the gate, stays behind the gate. No cops, no rules, just good old Viking behavior.

Rant over, just had to say my piece. Just because you own a lound bike, it does not make you a tough guy. Bring back the 1% crew!

I have to agree, the last boobs I saw up there was in '92. The real bike week days are over, now it is just a t-shirt fest.

its all about money... back in the day when we used to fish Winni every week end until july.. if the fishing sucked, there were alway naked women to gawk at.. and the ride home always involved several flashes and an ocasional moon..Most bikers dont have alot of money.. Doctors and Lawyers do...
