Remembering 9/11
I will not forget. I can not forget.
It has been seven years since George Bush inherited the lax security left over from the Clinton administration. 9/11 is not George Bush's fault. He was just on watch. I feel safe with George W'a as our president. There has not been an intrusion on US soil since our president promised to keep us safe. He has kept his word. Can we expect Barack Hussein Obama to live up the the protection we have now? I highly doubt it. Not since the day I saw his picture wearing a turban. I am going to put my faith in John McCain and Sarah Palin to continue the promise George W Bush made to the people of the United States of America to keep us safe. God bless those lost and the families effected by 9/11. I will never forget. ![]() |

And I thought I was one of the few conservatives left in N.H
The #1 priority of the president is protecting the country as comander and cheif....Everything else is secondary. Many have called the war in Iraq an unjust war...One made by GW by cherry picking intell... How quick people forgot about our vulnarability to terrorism because of our open and free society. How quick people forgot that only ninteen crazy, twisted people killed more of our citizens in two hours, than we lost in the first three years of the war. How quick people forgot that all fifteen U.N security council countries backed the idea of action against iraq if they didn't finaly come clean on their precursers of wmd that we knew they had posessed. Many resolutions were ignored.. How quickly people forgot that the whole country, both Republican and Democrat felt that Iraq was a threat...Not just in GWs admin, but also in Clinton and 41s admins too. And in most countries of the free world. I ask you all to think back about how we all felt on Sept 12 2001... Keep in mind how much Saddam hated us.... Keep in mind that he had used nerve gas to kill thousands of his own citizens ... Keep in mind he had the precursers for anthrax, and was researching smallpox.... Keep in mind that only a small trunk full of anthrax or a nerve agent, could potentialy leave tens of thousands of people dead in short order, making Sept 11 look like childs play... Keep in mind that Saddam could not reralisticly attack us here by convetional means... keep in mind that this made the possibility of handing wmd to a terrorist group his most likely way of getting us. Now imagine if GW had done nothing and we had been attacked resulting in tens of thousands of deaths... I can guarantee you that 90% of the people who have been bitching about GWs unjust war would be saying this instead... That damn Bush, We should impeach him, or run him out of office because he was neglagent..He knew Saddam was a threat ..He knew members of Saddams security forces had met with alqueda..He knew iraq had used Wmd before and that he could hand them off to terrorists to do his dirty work ..He knew these weapons would kill thousands of our citizens but that stupid Bush didn't do anything and now thousands of our citizens are dead...That Bush was neglegent because he didn't go to war to defend us...after all what is his prime responsibility ??? Defending us.. Keeping the horror of Sept11 fresh in our minds is the only way to avoid complacency. Thanks for posting guys, and thanks for remembering. And while we are remembering, remember that feeling of patriotism we all felt on that day, and for the weeks after...flags selling off the shelves..The pitch at Yankees stadium, 2001 super bowl champs the patriots, was so fitting at the time, and the feeling of pride to live in one of the most beautiful parts, of the best country in the world. P.S and by the way , is it politicaly incorect to say that Sarah Palin is HOT !!!! Last edited by Riverjim : 09-12-2008 at 09:40 AM. |

Forget, I don't think so.
I was there at ground zero providing security for two weeks following 9/11 and I was in Iraq in 2003 marching to Bahgdad. I'll never forget the hollow, lost, look on the faces of the NYC residents as the searched for their loved ones. On the other side, we're a better, stronger, more prepared country then we were then. I watched the entire horror from the 9th floor of North Shore Hospital while I was doing my residency in Long Island. The hospital went into immediate emergency mode and waited for patients.......but there were none......the few that survived went to the hospitals in NYC. I went down to ground zero as a physician 2 nights later and worked out of the FD......it was the most surreal setting that is not possible to describe other than horrific.....twisted, burning metal, acrid smoke, and eerie lighting. The only thing we could offer was to sew up those injured scouring thru the wreckage. Occasionally, a body bag would come out of the rubble.
I'll not forget that event.......don't even mention forgive. I get so angry when I think of the multitude who are still out there who would do it again in a second. They are subhuman....they have demonstrated time and again that they will slash their own mother or brother's throat for their sick ideology. Most enemies care whether they live or die......these vermin want to die and I say let's help them. REMEMBER......NOTHING satisfies these savages therefore they cannot be reasoned with......that being the case I think we all know the only solution. They even kill each other left and right......we must show NO QUARTER..........and any liberals out there will be beheaded by them while delivering an olive branch. And yet how many million of them already live here? And now one is going to become President.....for certain now that the economy has collapsed. NEVER, EVER trust one. |

We should also keep in mind that we should've stayed in Afghanistan, and all of al-Quida would've swarmed there like bees to honey. Now we have 2 fronts, because somebody or some people decided that Saddam was a big enough threat. I disagree. He was a secular leader, never cared about the Quran until he was walking to the gallows to be strung up. He had Christians in his cabinet. He would rather loot his own country, smoke cuban cigars and watch American bang-vids than carry out some horrific terrorist attack on American soil. Al-Qaida was and is the problem, not the secular Hussein thugs, and keeping ourselves in Afghanistan would've made killing more of the RADICALS off much, much easier. They are easier to round up and target in one area. But the leaders in the highest of offices decided to invade a country without the peoples approval. That right there is a NO-NO. So we've allowed our leaders to rape the constitution and stretch ourselves too thin over 2 fronts.
Some more thought process and less emotion may have made some more sense of this. Not proud to be an American, but HAPPY TO BE. I cant be proud of something I had no control over. I am proud when I accomplish something, because I did it, I had control over it. And I am NOT proud of this government. Pride is a crutch. And the more freedoms we give up, the less we deserve. |

M....you are right on about saddam......the only way to control those animals is with a despot like him......he was the best thing possible and GWB didn't even recognize it. They need to be ruled with an iron fist that keeps them in hiding like roaches.....and anytime they come out you step on them.
If one of the big guns wanted to take a shot at us now we'd be in deep shit....we're spread too damn thin......and our economy is in ruin....while a bunch of US companies have absolutley reaped an enormous $$$$ windfall during wartime. I hate to say it but this is the stuff revolutions are borne from. I love this country.....but way too much liberal shit is going on......ethics and family values are disintegrating right in front of us.....with the most obvious example being the rampant, outright criminal activity on wall st. that has crippled us needlessly......think about it.....other than being at war....we haven't had any natural disasters(other than Katrina which caused $2 billion damage.......BUT.......Melvin Schwartzman's personal income last year was $5.18 billion AND HIS COMPANY WENT BANKRUPT), there's no natural resource shortage.....this is all a result of the market manipulation by wall streeters(and my brother works for a hedge fund, although he's not at a level to have any real effect). Wipe out the bloated corporate corruption and big gov't and we may come through this......otherwise, head down to the LGS and stock up. |

Being Proud to be an American, has nothing to do with being proud of your Government. I served during the Clinton administration, and all of his bullshit. I was not happy with our elected officials, but I still served my country with PRIDE. Everyone that I know serving in the military now, did not enlist because they were proud of the government. They serve because they love our country. I guess you'll never understand, I'm glad that your HAPPY. And no my PRIDE is not a crutch. ![]() |

How quick people forgot about Prague....Yes, It is true that the prodominatly left wing media, and the powers on the 9/11 commision said they could not prove that Saddam was behind 9/11, and maybe he wasn't...But if you remember correctly, OJ was found not guilty...How many people really believe that to be true??
If it walks like a duck... Essay; Prague Connection - New York Times The Iraq/al-Qaida connection hasn't gone away. - By Edward Jay Epstein - Slate Magazine I guess I should not have had emotion...I must not have had a good thought process... Or maybe ,Just maybe, I have thought about this more than you could ever know..Maybe I understand that you can't just fight them in Afghanistan and expect to beat their ideology by killing more of them..That only creates more recruits for them in what would become an endless war.... Instead, Maybe Bush had it right..In the long term the only way to beat their ideology, and make them an impotent organization was to get other muslims in the world to rise up against them. To give Iraquis a chance for freedom, and to help them to become a country for the people, and by the people in the heart of the middle east....Letting them see the good in our citizens because of a free media instead of a state run propaganda machine that paints us as the great satin... I ask..How can a thoughtfull person ever expect the kids there to grow up liking us, and not threatening us, if they are always being fed hatefull crap that makes us seem like bad people...Maybe I have not been thought full but I guess I just possibly could be right.. There is no need to argue about this ,but in my own humble opinion it is not right to dis people who are proud of their country....Maybe not everything that has been done now or in the past is right, but this country does more to help people in the world then all others...
