Public Beach Access

Hi folks, just wanted to ask what public beach access is like around Portsmouth. I am up working the races in Loudon & wanted to fling some flies around in the Dark for whatever will eat them. Any general info would be appreciated. I cut my teeth fly fishing around the mouth of the Kennebec and at Ried State Beach years ago. Not asking for the secrect spots just general info on access to the salt where wading is possible.

Best regards,

Merrilizer,

Thanks very much, greatly appreciated. I appreciate the info. Hopefully some other folks will be out and about and not mind a fly flinger joining in.

I'm a fellow flinger! The marsh is well stocked with stripers if my trip was any indication yesterday. Try near the 101 bridge or either of the old trestles near high tide. Did good in Hampton Harbor, too.

47onthewall,

Thanks for the info, any info on patterns? How about lines, intermediates, Floaters? Just want to be prepared as I will be night fishing this week.

Best regards,

I generally use a fast sink line. My "meat fly" is a 1/0 chartreuse and white deceiver, which I stock here in the shop. Sometimes when the shad are around I go smaller; white is the color. Lots of 22-24" fish yesterday. Feisty!
