| Powwow with the Chief The Marsh Indian has his eye on what's happening here on the Hampton River. Questions on the local goings-on or Defiant Lobster Co. are welcome. |

What kind of bird?

This guy hung out with me and Forrest last night at the Landing. Climbed up on the dock while we were fishing and had no fear of us. Let Forrest pat him on the head. Likes herring and mackerel. I think it's an immature gannet. His wing feathers looked funky, almost dead; didn't appear to be able to fly. Last edited by 47onthewall : 08-11-2008 at 01:46 PM. |

Haven't seen him since, Bill. He had something going on with his feathers that didn't look healthy, but besides being grounded he seemed happy and healthy. Hope he makes it; gannets are cool!
I couldn't believe how many we saw in April 2007 diving close to shore on west coast of Cape Breton. |
