I only wish I could find some good handlines to sell.
The only company that made them is VERY slow in production. Flounders can be caught well enough on a medium action rod but nothing like personal connection of using a handline!

Buy more worms! Buy more hooks! Buy... Buy...BUY!!!!!th_i con_loll.gif

Bye for now

Jim, I serve on a big committee that is loaded with environmentalists and "Gummint Fishcrats" and the one critter that the most bleeding heart among won't tie themselves to a tree over is the detestable green crab. They even laugh when I regale them with tales of stomping them on the dock or blowing them up with firecrackers as a kid. Forrest has a ritual whenever he lands one; he gives a little rendition of the Mexican Hat Dance tune and stomps them twice-"Da-da-da-DA- da da -da...STOMP STOMP!!!"

Nobody likes invasive species. Even the revered Atlantic Salmon is treated like a chub when they get into western rivers after escaping from fish farms.

Nope; the green crab is no friend of mine.

Just kidding of course, but they do make you bait up more often though..I like the dance idea...Thats one for a utube vid

By the way, is a green crab invasive? I always assumed they were native.

Yeah, I always thought that too. But they've only been here since the 1900's if I remember what they told me at one of our meetings. Damned things are pure poison to the clam flats. Feel free to have at them with bottle rockets, baseball bats or steel-toed boots!

HEY! I resemble that remark! I like my Scottish half better anyway

Someone bought me a good book for christmas when I was teenager, it listed all our marine species in New England. I swear on my dog it said the green crabs were first seen in N.E. in the early 1800's, within the first few decades. But I cant find the damn book right now...I gotta go play pokah!
