I used to, only to see if what I knew was true, and actualy, everyone knows what these things do, it's no mystery... it gets expensive... I've tagged hundreds, and hundreds of fish, and most of the returns came back from the area I tagged them, even if it was a year or two latter, with the exception of very few.... if I tagged every fish I caught.. I'd be broke in no time..... I only take a few pictures each month, most of the time, I'm just too busy or the conditions dont warrant it to be practical to tag or take pictures....

The American Littoral scociety has always charged for tags, and to the best of my knowledge still do....I've also had the state biologists on board to tag as well in the past....

I feel confident that %99 of all fish I release survive, I always take time to revive the fish, in the case of a bleeder, or any fish I feel wont survive, I make them a gift to someone who will put the flesh to good use..enter the ARC dehooker, a devise designed for aquatic release, on those nights when I'm alone, I only bring the specimins that will be photographed into the boat, the rest are released with out removing them from the water....

I watched the ARC dehooker work. There should be one in every boat.
