How's it going?
to everyone ![]() I signed up yesterday, after looking around on the web for Striper fishing "stuff". You may recognize my name from other forums. I hail from southern Maine. My forte is fishing off the ocean ledges, mostly in the early am hours, but I do go out at night as well. I fish mostly bait (live & dead), but will throw rubber & plugs as well. I've been fishing for about 38 years, started in the salt, fishing Jones Beach, Montauk, Cap tree, fire Island and the like, in Long Island. Lived out west for a while, where I also fished for stripers in both fresh & salt water, as well as King Salmon, Halibut, shark, and whatever else I could catch. I am also a very avid waterfowl hunter, with 30 years of under my belt doing that. Well, I think that covers a lot of the "sport" stuff. looking forward to contribute and share with my fellow fisherman as much as possible. |

Riverjim, aside from the obvious "water" differences, not a whole lot. They still like to eat. Plugs either tossed or trolled, bait on the bottom, live lining, they all work. You just don't get the "surf" appeal in fresh water. My fishing in sweet water was done on huge enpoundments (reseviours), and some canal fishing as well.
Thank You all for the warm welcome |
