The Forum "Portal" page
This first section will be dedicated to familiarizing you with our Forum's "Portal" page.
This Portal page is most often used by folks as a "gateway" before the main forum page. On the Portal, you can get the latest info very quickly by checking out the Slideshow for featured threads and announcements, or scrolling down to the Recent Threads section. There is also a section above the Recent Threads section that will display the last 3 Announcements from our "What's New" forum....these 3 posts will usually include forum updates and news, new contest announcements, or polls for members to vote in etc. The Marsh Marauders Portal page also features a full Navigation Bar to the left of the screen. From this Navigation Bar, you can reach all pages of the forum, as well as pages on our main web site. Let's first start with a shot of the Navigation Bar. Use it to hop around the site and forum, get weather, tides and astronomical data, and view our Forum Photo Gallery, etc......  Next is a shot of the top of the Portal page, you will see our Slideshow feature circled and labeled. Every few weeks, random Member posts will be picked by MM Staff to be featured in our Slideshow. Your thread could make it!......  Next is a shot of the Shoutbox which is located under our Slideshow. The Shoutbox allows registered forum Members to communicate real time, much like a Chat Room......  Next is the Latest Forum News section......  And lastly, the Recent Threads section. On both sides sides of the Portal page, you will also see other sections with various data like Online Users, Members online, Newest Member, various forum Stats, a Calendar, Random Forum Photo Gallery pictures, a Donate button, a section listing our latest Auctions in our Forum Auctionhouse, as well as a Log In box on the top right-hand corner next to the Slideshow......
