Where are they?

Fished the harbor last night out of the Hampton River Marina.
Fly Fishing.

Started up river....nothing....moved across ....nothing.....downriver more towards the marina...nothing.....Across from the Marina nothing.

Out towards the mouth....drifted the rips....nothing....out towards the sandbar...nothing....back to the rips at the mouth.......1 flounder (on a fly).

Pretty slim pickins so far this year!

Where are they?

Perhaps we'll pin it down if we collectively share where they are not!!! It seems that those with boat access are doing better at this point than those of us fishing fromo shore. Spent 6 hours on Saturday at Plaice Cove - 4 lines in the water constantly - some chunking, some plugging. Only one fish - a 25 incher, released to tell the big boys we were there. They apparently never got the message. Sigh...........

Was out early this am up in the marsh. The tide was flooding, and I heard some surface action early on. Only managed a couple of schoolies in the hole, but I was just fishing light tackle and a 4" swimbait.

hit the merrimack, with a dozen jumbo eels at 2:00am
perfect tide, flat calm
first eel in the water for maybe 30 seconds, a fat mid 20's"
me thinks, here we go, a great night
NOT
not another run
at false dawn plenty of teenagers on top but that was all

water temp started at 70, ended 62 on the flood

a disappointing night

New Hampshire shore fronts have been real slow. The ebb has been dead. Night fishing is slow, and day fishing is dead (no big surprise). Where the hell are the blue fish, the water is piss warm. Fished Boar's head after work yesterday for shiats and giggles. We walked all the way around it. Once out on the tip a blue boat came flying in and basically stopped right in front of us. The fishing sucked so i didn't get pissed but this was bull shit. They prob saw us and thought we were into them. They settle in right in front of me within casting range. Morons. If you were on that boat and you happen to be reading this, then STOP BEING STUPID. There is a whole fucking ocean out there.

When a spook or Danny with large trebles "accidently" lands in their boat they might get the hint they are too close.
