I couldnt resist..

This may be the only report of the season from me.. I just dont do 'em..

wednesday night I made my first night trip (I've been live lining Macs during the day before work or on vacation) I took awhile to shake the cob webs loose but I fished until mid night and landed 7 fish in the high teens to low twenties ( lbs not inches) as well as a few little guys... most were on spooks and needle fish, the biggest.. was on an eel..

Last night I went down to check on trhe boat to make sure the pumps were turned on ( I have a bad habit of leaving them off, by accident) it didnt seem so bad, I knew boat traffic would be light.. so I had at it... I fished the top of the incoming and the turn... I had a ball with the spook, lots of 10-12lb class fish as well as a few in the twenties... biggest of the night was 28.35bs( weighed on a didgital scale).. all on plugs ( spooks, dannys and needle fish).. no pictures last night, just too soggy for the camera... when the rain settled in I called it a night...

The water is getting very muddy.. lots of floating debris as well...

Glad to see someone got into them. I went out yesterday morning and got one around 20inches. Lots of sturgen jumping out of the water yesterday, kinda strange to see them on the flats....When the water gets dirty does the fish tend to slow down? Never fished the flats after lots of rain.
Thanks for the report.

I definately saw stergeon at least one stergeon yesterday. The others looked like stergeon but from a distance. I had one jump 50ft off my boat in 8ft of water.

It's very possible, I;ve had them go between my legs while wade fishing at the Lawrence dam... they visit the river each spring.. never in large numbers.

Thanks for the report Roccus. I got out tues, wed. and Thurs this week as I took some time off work and fished the last 3 hours of the day time outgoing tides each day. It was the first time I've been out all year. We used up 7 dozen worms and only missed one strike in 3 days. It was a good time with fish on almost every drift and lots of doubles. Nothing big but just a lot of fun. Yesterday I fished with a buddy and he caught his first ever stripers and even his first keeper yesterday. He had his hands full on light spinning tackle. The water was really brown on Tues and Wed. It didn't seem as bad yesterday but that was before the rains last evening. Good times out there especially when it's not too crowded.
