Done groundfishing until the fall..

It's been agreat spring grooundfishing, not as many slams as in past springs, but enough to finaly fill the walk in freezer down stairs...

saturday, I was off the dock at 5 AM sharp, by 5:30 I was on a piece of bottom that has been good to me the last 3 weeks... when the party boats arrived, I had 6 keeper cod to about 20lbs.... from there, it got ugly... more boats than I have ever seen before, every time I hooked up, I got encroached upon, anchored on or just plain muscled out of my spot... in the end, I limited out, too many boats to jig up a whale cod.. I eventualy moved off to be alone and topped off my cooler with haddock....

A friend in a stick boat took this picture for me as he went by, rifght after I landed the best fish of the day..
done until October!

I could not go out on Saturday due to a funeral. I was going to go on Sunday, but other obligations popped up. Next week it is off to Connecticut for my annual wire line and jig troll fest. (I get to go on a boat and fish for once). I have the week of June 26th to July 5th off. Will the cod hold up until then or have I missed the boat (pun intended)?

BTW Roc, nice fish as usual. Googans galore by the sounds of things.... That will teach you for fishing on the weekends....

Roccus, You need a jamming divice to somehow disable their GPS, so they can't get a lock on the location.....It's better than explosives, and less likely to get you in trouble.

You spend a lifetime finding particular spots, and everyone has to come park on "your" fish...Let them do their own homework...

It doesn't matter with that first picture Roc gave the site away now every body knows where it is................I would recognize that small ripple set anywhere.

Great fishing.............sorry you had to do it on a weekend.........Forget what Jim says.............I like the flare gun, and the term "it was an accident".....Just kidding....kind of
