Too Much Bait!!!

hey guys, went out this weekend stripe-ah fishin and caught several small 20"-37"bass.it appears the big fish are just too plum full to want what i have to offer.{macks, herring, pogies}i did however, have a nice one on and the line separated at the mono/braid connection,my screwup, bad knot,no excuse. heck i even jigged up some smelts from my slip on the navy yard.a friend of mine got hit by a tuna, out to new scantum.he was trollin live macks when he had the hit, said he should have let him suck it in longer, probably a large football.dogfish galour outside on the humps.forget about bait fishin.flounder fishins improved according to some friends who limited out yesterday.goin out this week to fish off the beaches/breakers at night, with eels/macks,i should have better results.will check in at the end of the week.

Man I have to get better at this striper thing...

I would not include 37 " fish in my list of small ones...and 45" would be my biggest. I guess maybe with practice, some day I will call a keeper small?

riverjim, nothin wrong with a 37 incher.in me.they have to be 40" to keep.although i release most of those. i keep a small one now and again.we do a lot of fishin on lobsta boats where i see fish that will break the 50 mark quite often.they seem to know when we arrive and start dumpin the old bait bags, follow us from trap to trap.drop a piece of hooked herrin over side and let the fun begin, but most of the time, because of their speed, its the smaller bass37"-40"bass that end up gettin hooked.
