Jointed bottle eel

This plug has been a few years in the making... I'm unveiling it in public for the first time, Jon got to see it in action as an unpainted prototype....

Made of Western Red cedar it measures 10" long less the bucktail and hackle teaser tail, the rear section is grooved to accept an eel skin, the plug weighs a 3-3.25 ounce, 3/0 VMC trebles gaurd the fort....

In designing this plug, I wanted a plug that could be fished fast or slow, shallow(or on top) or deep and would still cast well and not roll out in fast water... the bottle fit the bill, and with some modifications, I think I have found it...

Amazing work once again..Can you show the rigging with an eel skin? I am not familiar with it.

Those are not for sale this season, for a few reasons, one, they are untested, althogh the test models caught 3 largemouth bass a about a 3lb pickerel while I was testing them, also I only made a dozen, 7 of hare for a plug swap... but... I'll get together with Jon, maybe we can come up with some kind of contest for someone on this site to win one....

Ahhhhh.......I almost crapped when I saw that thing "undressed" lying next to the plug box. "What in Sam-fuckin-hain is that" I says LMAO. Nevah seen nuthin like it, at that point I knew Roc wuz up to sumthin! Gotta see this thing move.....I havent seen a really new plug design in a long time, seen plenty of rehashes though. This thing is totally unique in the way it moves and can be fished.

I vote to add it to the MM Auction, and let us go to town on it! With all proceeds going back to Roc!!!

Nope.. no proceeds to me, lets make this site the "go to" site in Northeastern Mass and southern New hampshire!... just a flat out contest of sorts... How about the first fish(striper of coarse) over 30".. for Marsh Maurader member in good standing... Provide a picture and a witness, or picture with the fish on a tape measure if your fishing alone...All entrants reviewable by Marsh maurder staff...

Now I didnt think of that! That's an awesome idea!!! That might get some folks out on the water, a little incentive to push a little harder!

I will send out an email with the latest info. Maybe I take a some video of you working that plug Roc, and put it up here somewhere. If the winner is into wood plugs, I think they will be very impressed with this thing.

I have added a 3" teaser tail on the finished product, the tail consists of a sparce color matching bucktail combined with a pair of long olive grizzly hackles... the tail alone makes this thing look alive... I've yet to test it with an eel skin..

This may be the most appealing plug I have ever made..

That might get nominated for the "Understatement of the Year" award this December! You can say that again! This plug really horns me right up.
