New September MM Custom Plug Contest!

Ok folks, the Roc Special Jointed Eel Swimmer is going back up for grabs!

You must be a REGISTERED MEMBER OF THE FORUM WITH AT LEAST 10 POSTS TO PARTICIPATE!

This contest will run the month of September. Starting Sept. 1st, the Member with the largest striped bass will win the custom plug.

You must do the following for you fish to be eligible for this contest:

1.) Provide a photo of your fish with the date on it. If you do not have a digital camera that includes a date stamp on your photos, you must download and print out one of the 3 tags attached to this post below. Please include the tag of your choice IN THE PHOTO OF THE FISH.

2.) The measurement of your fish MUST BE CLEAR. This means the measuring tape should be clearly seen and the total length clearly marked for our Staff to properly judge the winning fish.

3.) We prefer catch & release. So please measure & photograph quickly for a safe release.

4.) Please measure TOTAL LENGTH as well as GIRTH. A girth measurement will help us determine a winner in the event of a tie.

5.) Fish from Cape Ann to Maine are eligible for this contest.

6.) Winner will get their pic on the front page of the site in the MM Slideshow! So if you have a buddy with you, get a quick shot of you holding the fish if you'd like.

Damn.. I remembered about this contest this morning about 10 mins after releasing a fat 43" fish.. I'll be back!

Ok, back at it this morning - only had a couple of hours to fish before work. This fish isn't in the same class as the one I got yesterday, but since I printed out the MM logo I figured I'd take some pics and post it up so that others could have a target to shoot for ;)

Fish was caught in the Merrimack / Plum Island area.

Length was 41" from the base of the tail to the tip of the nose.

Weight was around 30# as it bottomed out my Boga grip.

Girth was measured around 19", but looking at the pics, I didn't get the widest part of the fish - I was in a rush to get it back in the water.

Probably won't hold up for too long, but I'll do my best to top it in the next few weeks.

Tom, excellent work!!! This is a perfect example of how to do this contest! Thanks for posting and participating.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much lol. We couldn't unload this plug last Spring. This fish very well may hold up. But let's hope for a little competition to make it fun!
