My buddy & I have caught lots more since the last post, but they keep getting smaller and smaller, avergaing only 12-18 lbrs now, and far fewer than even a week ago. The 20-40 lbrs we were on before must have followed the herring back out to sea.

Ran into Roccus on his pre-fishing supper run last Thursday before the start of another vampire run, hope he has been doing better. Fishing pressure has really picked up, lots of boats. Was mostly kayakers out there when we started.

All fish released, no more pics.

Is there anybody else out there? Why no other pics?

I have not heard about many people even catching keepers from shore....

Quite a few boat fisherman seem to be on them this year though, but from what I have been hearing, it has been more around the mouth of the harbor, the pisscattiqua, especialy near the mouth, and the usual good reports from the Merrimack river area.

Most of the regulars I have talked with this year, who fish the inland fishery found it much slower than in the past. I would not be suprised if there are fewer then ten shore fisherman who are members on this site that have caught a keeper from shore??? Speak up if you have please.

I have only caught two..One was just shy of 30", the other was never measured, but about the same size. My best year in the estuarys rivers was twenty five kepers by June 15...

20-40 pounders were around late last week. Roc had another 40+, it's on the front page of the site. At this rate, I don't think anyone is going to win this thing. If nobody wins this month, it will be hung up and will be offered again maybe in August.
