I spoke with Kevin Lucey this morning. He seemed interested, and greatfull, that there is already an organized group who might be interested in helping out. He even mentioned that he would be willing to set up a special training session for MM members if the members have a time that might be more conveniant than the training sessions they already have schedualed. Merrilizer and I will be at the training session on the 27th, and we will iron out the details then.

I am wondering how many people might be interested??? Please take the time to read the links about the plant that were posted earlier in this thread. This is a plant that could significantly effect the ecology of the marsh if it is able to take hold, and then it is just a matter of time before it gets to the saltmarshes of Great Bay. The boy scouts and others have been helping to eradicate a population on plum island, and by having an organized group working towards the effort they are having some success.

F.Y I.
Yesterday, after I mentioned the Marsh Marauders to Kevin, he took a ride past the Marsh and took note of the number of people fishing. I think that he realizes that we could make a difference quickly, because of our time spent on the water. He said that a group could clean up a section in a relativly short amount of time.

For those of you who beleive in the things like the M&M marsh cleanup, and doing other things to protect our ecology, This might be something where we can have a profoundly positive effect.

It is a chance to make a difference, and to protect the beautifull salt marshes that were a major reason for the success of the settlements in Exeter and Hampton during the 1630s..

The saltmarshes that are the habitat for many lifeforms that keep the Bay and Harbor healthy.

And the saltmarshes I want to see protected so the next generations can hear the gentle rustle of the wind, and admire the golden glint off the waving stalks as the sun sets.....

Sorry for being a little sappy, but the beauty of the saltmarsh is something that is in my sole, and my family history. Some say that if you close your eyes, and listen closely, you can hear the saltmarsh whisper our history.

I'm down for going when ever the best time is. A special session for us would be cool too.

Yeah, if we can do special session for all of us, it would be good. That way, we could tally up votes for a time that is best for all of us. At this point I dont know where I am going to be on my Birthday, so July 1st is more than likely out for me.
