Conservation & Regulation Any reports or information about game theft, animal cruelty, etc. should be posted here. Any information you post will be forwarded to the proper authorities. Plate numbers, description of the offender(s), even the description of a car is a start. Workshop Offered for Volunteers Interested in Lake Monitoring



Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Volunteer Lake Assessment Program (VLAP) is looking for volunteers. Do you live near a lake or pond? Are you interested in collecting lake samples, conducting your own water quality tests and understanding the test results? Would you like to learn about the recent changes to the Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act? With New Hampshire being the fastest growing state in the Northeast, how can we work together to protect our lakes from land-use changes in the watershed? Have you heard about toxic cyanobacteria, Didymo (rock snot) or exotic aquatic plants, such as variable milfoil or fanwort, and have you wondered if they grow in the waterbody you live around?

Attend the Services’VLAP annual workshops Annual Workshop and these questions, and many more, will be answered! Workshop participants will learn about VLAP and how to: become part of an important program that helps monitor the state’s water quality, identify aquatic plants, and utilize lake sampling techniques. Also, workshop attendees will learn more about cyanobacteria and the invasive rock snot, . In addition to the popular lake ecology and aquatic plant identification sessions, and . In addition, a special guest will present on how you can volunteer for the Loon Preservation Society.
