Ipod experts out there?

Hey gents......anyone know how to move songs into an area where they will not be sync'ed to the Ipod, and how to get music off of the Ipod without losing it? I just have way too much music for my 15gb Ipod but I want it to stay in Itunes or my external hard drive. Thanks.

When you sync your Ipod with itunes, you should be able to click on a tab, and choose what music you want sync'ed onto the ipod. Playlist's,podcast's or whatever you want. All of the music will stay in itunes, just the selected stuff will go onto the ipod. I hope that helped????

My daughter was about 31/2 and one day she was screaming that she had lost the Diseny web site. I couldn't get there immediatley. 10 minutes later I ask what happened................."Well, Dad you didn't come so I figured out how to do it myself." They just seem to know, it's scary.

(takes over 10 minutes to pick clothes and shoes in the morning though, some things never change, made the bus by 1 minute this morning)

If you're still having problems, try the following:
In the iTunes Explorer, select the iPod device that you want to manually synchronize. It should display info about the iPod with the name, capacity, software version, etc. On the bottom is a button for 'Manually manage music'. If you check this, then you will be in complete control over what music goes on the iPod. You can explicitly drag and drop to the iPod in the iTunes Explorer.

I don't understand the second question 'get music off the iPod without losing it'. The music is stored in your iTunes library. So you won't lose when deleting songs from the iPod as long as they are in your library.

Thanks....I figured it out......problem was that the ipod needed to be plugged in before I could select the "manage manually" option.
