Question Salt water registry

This might be an oddfish question since he seems to know the regs or it may have already been asked but if I live in Maine but fish New Hampshire and Maine do I need to register for both states?

I think you can register on a federal level rather than in individual states. I think that is what I got from this https://www.countmyfish.noaa.gov/
Someone correct me if i am wrong...

Mason, I think your right, as I remember all you do is go to the sight and then list the states you will fish in for salt. As I recall, I just filled out the NE and left it at that. I think you can fish anywhere even if you only regiser one state, but am a bit unsure on that.

mass newhampshire an maine are all reciprecal meaning that you can fish in all 3 states becuase they border each other as long as you have your federal license when you register you can put all the states you want to fish in on your card anyways

What happens when Mass, NH and Maine implement (and charge you for) state registration next year? If I read the NOAA site correctly, if a state requires registration, that covers you and you don't have to register for the Federal Permit. Will we have to register in all 3 states?

Mass and NH will be reciprocal. Maine thinks they are going to stand up to the Feds and have NO state license. I've been told by those in the know that the states that continue the Federal registry will be charged for the cost of administering it. If all the Atlantic states stayed federal the costs would have been proportionally shared; if stubborn Maine keeps pissing into the wind and they are the ONLY state in the federal registry they will pay for the whole boat and be royally screwed!Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!

This year when you register with NOAA (countmyfish.gov) you are covered in any state. Next year, when you buy your salt license in your state it will be valid in any other state. From what Ive read, if your state refuses to do a state salt license, you will have to pay the Feds, instead of the state for it, to fish in any state. Hope this clears it up.
