How's shoreline day fishing for everyone lately?
Went out yesterday to catch the morning tide and didn't get a bite or anything... The guy I went with insists that the fishing would be better at night, which I agree with, considering the stories I've read on here. I'm just curious if I'm wasting my time during the day or if I can catch fish on those late morning high tides?
At least I got to enjoy some of the Hampton beach scenery on my way home... We were in the marsh using frozen herring and clams on the incoming. |

That makes it harder to catch them, you can still do it but you are throwing hurtles infornt of yourself. They like feeding at night best, they feed better on dark cloudy days. They can be coaxed to feed almost anytime but you need to get the item right infront of them and the presentation has to be pleasing.
It's time to start watching the birds too the young of the year are big enough to be of food value to both the fish and the birds. If you find the birds you will likely find feeding fish. Try small swimbaits or small silver or copper lures. lead heads with fur or rubber might also work well. For some reason they have been taking my small clam offerings ment for flounder latley even over live fish.......I don't know I just go with it....Whatever works stick with it. Makes me think they are targeting worms right now (I cut my clams to look like worms). Oddfish |
