Clams
Even with the 4" of rain, I suspect the clam flats of Hampton will be open this Saturday since the tides are both in the dark
This storm might finally reestablish the surf clam zone. Hopefully I can give it a check tomorrow afternoon. Might be eazy pickins tomorrow evening, I kind of suspect not since the temp will be up, but worth a look. They can rebury pretty easily untill well below freezing. I'll be suprized if we get 20' waves but it is east facing so the storm is oriented well to the beach (for chuning up the bottom). Oddfish |

Went to the beach in Hampton. Not what I had hoped for, beach has changed but the tide was in high, no suprise there, but lots of small rocks. This is a little odd for this particular part of the beach. I don't know if it will have an adverse effect on the clams or not. Definetially make it harder to dig em. Might give it one mor try when the water is down a bit.
Not too many fresh dead clams out there either, the strom might not have been long enought or the temp to high to strand the buggers. Oddfish |
