What is a nanosecond? (pics)
A nanosecond is about as much time a mature whitetail buck will give you to close the deal.
It is called instinct. The bucks instinct is to get away, and your instinct is as a hunter. There are no questioning the steps. There needs to be a pure reaction. Today my hunting partner was given a "nanosecond". I'm glad to say "he closed the deal". We hunted into the wind along a long and narrow swale swamp. I stayed in the hemlocks, Mark stayed in the swamp. Like a pheasant flushing under foot this buck didn't move until he was stepped on. Pure swamp bunny.  A lighter moment before a long drag.  And long drag it was.  After we got the buck to our side of the swamp I went and fetched the deer car.  We arrived at the Ford just at dusk.  Mark's 10 point 180 pounds. We will do it all over again tomorrow my friend.  |

Nice deer.... That buck looks like he is close to the 200lb threshold. Every buck is a trophy in NH.
Congrats on a great critter....... Hard work pays off. |

Another point of reference for a nanosecond is how long you last with your old lady
