fly fishing in new hampshire site

Wow, I went to this site and it tried to load me up with a Trojan downloader. Sum bitch. I wonder who the webmaster is? Puttin' malicious code in there for visitors. Nice! I feel bad for those without Kaspersky, or a comparable anti-virus engine. Not all of 'em do as a good a job!

there has been an on going battle between two webmasters of differnt fly in nh sites. one says it is a virus and the owner denies it. i know one of the members and he is an IT guy and he said the site is good. must be some kind of error. i dunno tho.

glad to hear a shout out for kaspersky. not everyone is a fan. But i have had no intrusions in about 8 months. My final straw was when i was watchig whitewater carnage on the net and took a trogan that killed the macine in it's tracks. who hate white water wtf?

Yeah, I have installed Kaspersky for customers, only to get calls within several days bitching about it. "I am getting these messages popping and I don't what they are. They are annoying. I don't like this."

My usual response:
Ok, well, that means the software is doing it's job, see. You're not used to this happening so frequently, because your previous anti-virus / internet security software paled in comparison. Kaspersky has the strongest anti-virus engine IN THE WORLD. Your previous PC/ internet security software didn't find, couldn't detect, or couldn't block as many viruses, trojans and intrusion attempts etc as Kaspersky. That's why you're getting more notices now, because it is doing it job of PROTECTING YOUR PC. But, if it's annoying you, I can came back, free of charge, and remove what is working so well, and replace it with the rubbish you had previously installed. Your choice. Thank you.

LMFAOLMFAO

Some people just don't get it. When something is WORKING, they don't like it. Now that I think of it, I really shouldn't recommended something as great as Kaspersky and then install it, because it's bad for business. Especially so when things are really slow for me in the Summer. I should just put AVG or McAfee, or some other mediocre internet security suite on their PC's.

The guy that runs that site is Sean I believe. There are some really nice guys over there, actually it's the first forum I ever joined and I don't fly fish. I just knew and fished with some dudes on there.

I dont know them, but I am sure they are nice. I think what might be happening is they put some javascript or other code in there and it is being seen as malicious. Either that, or they were hacked.

If your internet security settings arent correct, sometimes even software like Yahoo messenger can be detected as "malicious" and the programs .exe file deleted because when it tries to access the internet, its seen as troublesome.

I am mostly a fly guy so I am on there everyday and I know Sean install some new stuff on the site the other day and I'll bet that is it. I think he knows about it and will get it fixed up as soon as he can.
Bunch of good guys over there, I have done some river stocking/clean up stuff with the them and the TU great bay chapter. They too, like you guys have a passion for fishing and are willing to help a new guy out...
Thanks for the great posts and I enjoy reading them all... Hope to hit the marsh next week (fly rod)!!!!
