Anytime my man. You can find everything you need at KTP. You can find everything you need and more at surfland, much better selection.

Thanks for the great posts and pics. I am new to saltwater fishing and have had very little success with artificial lures. Frankly, I had no idea what to buy. I will be picking up some of these and give them a try. Hopefully my luck will be better with these in the arsenal!!!

As I previously indicated that this is the time of year for plugs they will out fish bait for the most part. I plug all year long. Successful plugging requires time, patience, and a blatant disregard for your finances. The fall run provides a great chance to build up confidence plugging. Once you start catching on plugs you become addicted. Plugging allows you to move around with great ease aka rt 1A shuffle. If nothing is happening after 15-20 mins move on/change plugs. Try different retrieve styles, whatever it takes.

Last night I met up with two guys one had some experience the other was really green. We hit up a few spot using danny's, sluggos, needlefish, etc. The more experienced of the two pulled a decent 27" bass from some nice surf, it was his first NH bass. I hooked into a real drag screamer shortly after on a needlefish, after about 1.5 mins of fun she released herself. The other guy didn't hook up but enjoyed the experience. It's just the way it goes. You gotta put your time in, experiment, and get confident.

For those new to the brine (aka the salt), the Spring and Fall are (in my opinion) the best times to learn how to work plugs and read the water. If you don't mind spending some time along the shoreline in the Fall, and can handle the chillier temps, you can really up your chances for success and results with artificials. The bass are feeding heavily and will be more easily enticed into swiping at a lure or plug. Look for those birds working, look for those Peanut Bunker slashing the surface, and look for the water boiling with striped bass. One of the most underrated tips for fishing blitzes, is to cast along the outside of the blitz, around the outside of the school of bass. Big, fat, lazy, bully bass more often than not will hang on the outside and pick up the scraps. These slobs usually don't compete with younger, smaller bass and refuse to waste the energy. So dont forget to work the outside of a blitz.

I hope to be out front this week. I just gotta work a needle.
