A SLAMMER Striped Bass All-Nighter

Well I just got home about 30 minutes ago from another All-Night Bass War with Roc. Although I got trounced again LMAO, I had a great night. Just an awesome night, even though got BEATEN by the wind for awhile. It started out fairly quickly, both getting fish around 15 pounds. There seemed to be an endless array of fish between 10 and 18 pounds. We fought and landed those for awhile. After a few passes, it died. Then the wind just started kicking our ass. We stuck it out till after 1am or so. Then tons of schoolies moved in as the wind continued to howl. No use wasting eels on schoolies, so once enough water came in, Roc moved to a different spot. By this time it was about 2 am. Then the Bass Wars really started. After several fish in the 25-30 pound range, I decided to take one last cast at the end of a pass.....

Turned out to be the right decision. I was on, with a fish screaming upriver. I stood there for a few minutes while it just peeled off the Fireline. I was letting her do her thing. Next thing you know, Roc is on too. Big time double. I thought my fish was at least 40 pounds by the fight, after landing it, 43" and 35 pounds. But enough of that, Roc's fish just sounded different, using the same reel, a Cabo 40 both set at 5 pounds of drag, I just knew his was larger. It was absolutely just fuckin screaming. SCREAMING AGAINST THE CURRENT. That "one last cast" on that particular pass turned out to be one helluva double-up!

Roc is off work today, and he told me he still does not have his home internet connection working. So in order not to steal his thunder, I will let him tell the story of this fish himself when he returns. We got some pics of all the larger fish.

All I will say is, "Number 10". And we're not even out of June yet!

A SLAMMER Striped Bass All-Nighter

Well I'm back from a mini vacation with the wife to Maine, but before we left Mr Merrill and I spent the night(sundown to sun up) out in the boat, we dodged the storms, fought the wind and dredged a sh*t load of mud but the end result was some pretty steady and fun fishing with everything from schoolies to some real behemoths...

the kept my word part comes in from my sayin in a differant thread that the 46" bass I took back on the 20th wouldnt be my biggest of the year.. well.. on the 24/25 I bested it with a 50" long fish that had a 29" girth... 50lb class but no official weight... here are a few fish from that night...

The other two fish were 48" and 46" LL 40LB CLASS FISH.
