, and welcome.

It has been a while since I have fished Silver, but there are some cocker Smallmouth in there. I used to fish with a Bass club, and we had a tourny there once. For anyone who has never been there, the trip is worth it. Such a beautifull lake at the foot of the White mountains, great views, little boat traffic, and big fish. I would highly recomend it.

It is one of those tough lakes to fish for bass. With the exeption of the north end, it is kind of bowl shaped...Slightly sloaping sandy banks extending out quite a way from shore till they drop into what is a deep lake for its acerage.

What I found out, was a map made all the diff...I studied it looking for the places where the drop was most severe, and closest to the shore....This paid off on pre-fish, and tourny days, because the lake has so little structure, the bass tend to congragate on the drops. That is their only structure.

What has your experience been there? Are you after the big trout that hang in the depths or Bass? If Bass, Try a small hair jig,1/4 or 1/8 ounce tipped with a spin frog pork rind (the small one). Fish it SLOW Barely move it down those drops. If a cast doesn't take you at least two minutes, your fishing it too fast. Hold on tight, and have fun.

Let me know how you do if you try it. BTW I think it's great you go with your daughter, she will remember those times for the rest of her life.
