Here we are, May 1st, and the Alewives (River Herring) have begun their Spring run up into New Hampshire's rivers to spawn in the freshwater. Word has it that several rivers are doing very well, and seeing an increase in the amount of Alewives going through fish ladders. This is great news all around.
