2008 marsh marauders volunteer clean-up

Plans have begun for another volunteer clean-up in the Hampton, NH marsh area. In order to keep up with illegal dumping and littering, we have decided not to skip a year in 2008, and we will go ahead and take out what we can some time in late April or early May.

If you would to join us, please click HERE to go to the clean-up thread. As always, donation of materials that can be used for the clean-up are welcomed and appreciated. Things like gloves, industrial strength trash bags, etc are a big help for volunteers.

Hampton, NH MM Cleanup 2007

Once again, in early May of 2007, The Marsh Marauders held another volunteer cleanup in Hampton, NH. After a year off, it was decided to again cleanup one of our favorite local Hampton fishing holes, and its access road. This years cleanup helped to "keep up" with all the illegal dumping that occurs in this specific area of town.

The Town of Hampton DPW again allowed us to unload this rubbish at the Transfer Station. More tires, a hood of an old Chevy, water heaters, and the usual refuse was cleaned and removed from the area.

Another successful Marsh Marauders cleanup, volunteers young & old, made up of local area fishermen, hunters, and sportsmen. Their vehicles, tools, and time are what make these events possible.

Thanks to everyone who joined us in 2007!

More information on this event can be found in it's archived thread, located on our forum HERE.

Coverage of this event by the Portsmouth Herald can be found HERE. Thanks to Scott Yates for coming out and snapping some photos, and to Patrick Cronin for the write-up.

Hampton, NH MM Cleanup 2005

In late April of 2005, the Marsh Marauders organized a volunteer cleanup to remove illegally dumped trash and refuse from an area of Hampton, NH that has long been used local anglers and sportsmen.

We successfully removed 6000 pounds of trash from the area, including 50 tires, couches, refrigerators, as well as the common cans, bottles and paper products.

With help from the Town of Hampton Department of Public Works, we were able to appropriately dispose of this illegally dumped trash.

Local Media Coverage:

Pictures from the day can be found below, and the story as covered by the Portsmouth Herald may be found HERE.

* Currently, the .PDF file that included the story as covered by the Atlantic News has been "lost in limbo", and is also no longer available on the Atlantic News web site. If found, we will upload it to the Marsh Marauders and make it available for download ASAP.
